Vary your Toll Free Numbers to Track Ad Results?

This is just a quick post to point out a strategy that I've seen recently used by Nutrisystem.

Have you seen the Nutrisystem TV advertisements that feature former NFL players like Dan Marino and Mike Golic? They have been running them during football games and I saw one again on CNBC this morning. The one I posted recently had the toll free number 1-888-802-DIET.

I've seen the same advertisement run many times, but they have been varying the numbers. (I've been too slow to catch the new ones on my iPhone, I'll promise to share more here shortly). They have varied with numbers that contain LOSE, SAVE, etc.

One strategy is to have multiple toll free numbers in order to track the effectiveness of your advertising. If people call the DIET number, you know that your advertising dollars are better spent during NFL games than during CNBC broadcasts.

Companies like CallSource.com are experts in this technology and strategy. Check them out.

I'll elaborate more on this strategy in an upcoming post.

Associated Tax Relief - Unimaginative Toll Free Number

888-something something something... zzzz. How about this toll free number 1-888-9-LOWTAX, available NOW at 800forall.com. Just $9.95.

Toll Free Number 877-CASH-NOW

Another iPhone picture.

Monday Night Football, strange opera singing advertisement. JG Wentworth - "Structured settlement funding from the undisputed industry leader. Sell your structured settlements, annuity or life insurance policy" CASH NOW. Brilliant. Note that they didn't try to sell you "JG Wentworth." Its about the CASH NOW! A great toll free number.

519 toll free numbers with the word "CASH" in it on 800forall.com

American Express Blue Card - Toll Free Number

800.600.BLUE - A pretty sweet toll free number, and a great advertisement on Monday Night Football. Note that they don't use 800-573-4723 or whatever, and neither should you!

Video Professor's Non-Memorable Toll Free Number

Another quick snapshot from my iPhone.

Another in my "pet peeve" series - Here is the an advertisement from Video Professor, the company that helps people learn how to use their computer better. In my opinion they appeal to an older audience who likes the idea of learning Windows, eBay, Online Investing, Photoshop®, Excel, etc. at their own pace.

Its funny, they don't even list their website on the advertisement (maybe they assume you can't use a web browser?) so they splash their toll free number on the screen - in this case 800-529-5402.

If I was marketing for them, I would probably pick an available toll free number like 877-91-VIDEO or maybe 888-VIDEO-30. Both are available now at 800forall.com.

The combination of your website and an easy to remember toll free number will bring you more business!

Geico Toll Free Number for Motorcycle Insurance

Another quick picture from my iPhone.

Here is the Geico number for motorcycle insurance. Sell motorcycles? Insure them? There is only one toll number available at 800forall.com that ends in CYCLE 866-53CYCLE. Get it now!

Other options include the easy to remember 888-9CYCLE9. There are only 24 available numbers that contain CYCLE.
